How escrow payment protection works
When a customer books you on GeraHome, their payment is charged immediately and held in a secure escrow account — not released to you yet, and not refundable to them without a reason. This protects both parties:
- ✓ You know the customer has already paid before you show up.
- ✓ The customer knows their money is safe until the job is confirmed complete.
- ✓ Neither party can disappear with the money.
Once the job is done and the customer confirms completion in the GeraHome app, the escrow is released and your payout is initiated within 48 hours.

The 15% GeraHome fee covers payment processing, platform maintenance, customer acquisition, insurance protection, and 24/7 support. There are no monthly subscription fees, no listing fees, and no hidden charges. You only pay when you earn.
Payout timeline
Customer confirms completion
The customer taps "Job Complete" in the GeraHome app. This triggers the escrow release.
Auto-confirmation (if customer does not respond)
If the customer does not confirm within 24 hours of the appointment end time, the job is automatically marked complete on their behalf.
Payout initiated
GeraHome deducts the 15% commission and initiates your payout within 48 hours. You receive a notification with the exact amount.
Funds arrive
Depending on your payout method, funds arrive in 0–3 business days (see the table below).

How to add your payout account
- 1Log in to your GeraHome provider account.
- 2Go to Provider Dashboard → Settings → Payouts.
- 3Click "Add payout account" and select your preferred method.
- 4Enter your account details (bank account number, mobile number, or wallet ID depending on method).
- 5Verify your identity if prompted (required for first-time payout setup).
- 6Save. Your account is now active for payouts.
Disputes and what happens if a customer raises one
In rare cases, a customer may raise a dispute — claiming the work was not completed, was substandard, or that a different amount was agreed. Here is what happens:
Dispute raised
The customer submits a dispute through the app within 48 hours of job completion. Payout is temporarily paused.
Both sides heard
GeraHome contacts you for your account of events. You can submit photos, messages, and any evidence from the job. The customer does the same.
Investigation (24–72 hours)
The GeraHome disputes team reviews all evidence and makes a decision. We aim to resolve all disputes within 3 business days.
Resolution
Payout is either released in full to you, partially refunded to the customer, or fully refunded depending on the outcome. Both parties are notified with the decision and reasoning.
Providers with fewer than 3 disputes per 100 bookings maintain "Trusted Provider" status. Frequent disputes may result in account review.
